Faculty Spotlight

Kai Lin

Kai Lin

Dr. Kai Lin, MD, MS, is a Research Associate Professor of Radiology who is subspecialized in cardiovascular imaging. His research focuses on developing novel MRI techniques and biomarkers for the detection and assessment of cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Lin is also equipped with a solid background in biostatistics and epidemiology.

Dong-Hyun Kim

Dong-Hyun Kim

Dr. Dong-Hyun Kim, PhD, is a medical scientist with experience in interdisciplinary engineering and medical science for image guidance therapy applications. His research has focused on image guided medicine using multifunctional therapeutic carrier platforms to treat cancers for 20-years and published over 100 papers in international refereed journals. Dr. Kim is closely collaborating with clinicians, medical scientists, biologists, engineers, and imaging professionals to translate cutting-edge cancer therapeutic approaches to clinics. He has worked on NIH research projects and published papers focusing on image-guided medicine in high-impact scientific journals. Recently, he was named a 2020 Distinguished Investigator by the Academy of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research. He is the director of the Biomaterials for Image Guided MEDicine Lab (BIGMed lab) and the co-director of the Molecular and Translational Imaging Core (MTIC) at R.H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Amber M Leaver

Amber M Leaver

Dr. Amber Leaver, Ph.D., is a neuroscientist and Research Associate Professor of Radiology specializing in brain MRI acquisition and analysis. Her research involves brain imaging to understand and improve how noninvasive brain stimulation technologies change brain structure and function. Long-term, her ambition is to utilize MRI to develop effective, personalized brain stimulation therapies for depression, chronic tinnitus, and other conditions.
