 Research Data Analyst Associate (Job ID: 46384)

Job Summary:

Coordination, management, and curation of data from research studies in the department of Radiology. The candidate will support radiology faculty and investigators in their research effort by working directly with them to develop and maintain software tools for image data transfer and data analysis, remote (cloud based) data archiving, and by creating of study specific data base solutions.

Responsibilities will include

+ setup and maintenance of servers for archiving of study and imaging data

+ implementation, maintenance, und upgrade of data pipelines for the transfer, deidentification, and archiving of imaging data  

+ support of faculty and staff to develop study specific research data management solutions

+ setup, service and maintain workstation and software for data analysis

+ provide support for IT needs of faculty, staff, postdocs, and students related to new and ongoing research studies.

This position will work in a highly collaborative research environment in the department of Radiology to assist with the coordination, transfer, archiving, and documentation of research study imaging data, such as MRI and CT images. Prior experience with imaging analysis software suites and data management platforms is considered a strength. Proficiency in coding and scripting tools is preferred.

Specific Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Partners with faculty and investigators to define requirements based on research news and research study objectives related to software, data transfer, and data management.
  • Support of faculty and staff to develop study specific research data management and data base solutions, including research study data and radiologic images such as CT or MRI                                                                   

Administration

  • Develop standardized templates, policies, and procedures for internal and external transfer and archiving of imaging data.
  • Designs and prepares documentation for transfer and archiving of imaging data.
  • Setup, service and maintain workstation and software for data analysis 

Development

  • Completes a variety of statistical analyses using appropriate data and software
  • implementation, maintenance, und upgrade of data pipelines for the transfer, deidentification, and archiving of imaging data

Performance

Minimum Qualifications:

Job Summary:

The Research Technologist 1 conducts tests, procedures and sets-up and operates equipment. This role records observations, measurements, collects and compiles data in a research lab. The Research Technologist 1 requires a practical understanding of a limited number of standard scientific techniques.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Follows pre-defined protocols, policies, procedure, regulations, Good Clinical and Good Laboratory Practices and conducts standard and repetitive experiments and completes basic trouble-shooting techniques.

Job Summary  

Conducts experimental research lab work and/or assists in design of one or more specific phase(s) of entire project(s).  May complete mathematical calculations, and/or computer tasks and/or assist in judging validity of data.  Follows appropriate protocols, policies, procedures, regulations, Good Clinical and Good Laboratory Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Following protocols, designs, sets-up and conducts basic experiments.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots protocols and data obtained from individual experiments and recommends alternatives and suggestions to improve processes, validity and/or accuracy.

Administration

  • Maintains detailed records of results which may include collecting, extracting & entering data.
  • Manipulates, interprets &/or presents results.

Finance

  • Orders &/or maintains inventory of reagent, mice &/or lab supplies.

Supervises

  • Trains students.

Other

  • Performs health monitoring for post-operative laboratory animals
  • Performs minor surgeries and assists other qualified individuals with surgical procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a scientific major or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.   

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year experience as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician in a veterinary medical facility
  • Successful completion of a college level curriculum in veterinary technology requiring a minimum of two years of full time academic study in a program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association or completion of a 4 year degree in animal science, biology, veterinary science, zoology or related field.

 Research Data Analyst Associate (Job ID: 45555)

Job Summary:

Coordination and curation of data from clinical functional imaging studies, intraoperative mapping data, and neuropsychological measures.

The goal of the project is to use multi-modal data to identify critical nodes of brain function (language, motor, …) to determine sites of stimulation, impact on cognitive performance, and predict surgical outcomes.

This position will report to Dr. Parrish in Radiology but will be highly integrated with Dr. Marc Slutsky (Neurology), and Matt Tate (Neurosurgery). Dr. Slutsky’s work focuses on ECoG mapping and identifying critical regions of motor and language networks. Dr. Tate is a functional neurosurgeon who conducts 2-3 awake mapping cases a week. Dr. Parrish’s work focuses on neuroimaging – data acquisition and data analysis for all types of imaging data including structural, diffusion, perfusion and functional imaging.

This position will work in a collaborative environment to assist with the coordination, processing and analysis of MR neuroimaging data, intraoperative data including DES, ECoG, and IR mapping. Prior experience with neuroimaging software suites such as FreeSurfer, SPM, FSL and AFNI is required. Proficiency in coding and statistical packages is preferred. Experience with graph theory analyses is also preferred.

 MRI Technician (Job ID: 45284)

Job Summary:

MRI Technician manages daily operations of MRI scanners.  Responsible for all aspects related to MRI scanning including scheduling studies, performing scans, archiving studies, post-processing of images and archiving and maintaining imaging data, and billing of scanner usage. 

Please note: This position would primarily be M-F, with the potential for 1 Saturday every 3 months (4 total per year)

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manages daily operations of MRI scanners.  Responsible for all aspects related to MRI safety and MRI scanning including scheduling studies, performing scans, archiving studies, post-processing of images and archiving and maintaining imaging data, and billing of scanner usage.  MRI technologist will train research personnel on scanner use, setup, and cleanup. MR safety training will be provided by MR technician. Observing operations of people in the imaging center and those with credentials to scan on their own is part of the position to maintain safety and the best quality data.

Administration

  • Oversees and manages collection, maintenance, analysis and evaluation of data that will be used in grant submissions, presentations and publications. 
  • Ensures that information is entered correctly into databases.
  • Assists PI in reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, formatting, editing, and preparing tables, charts, graphs, progress and final reports, etc.
  • Coordinates between sponsoring agencies, collaboration organizations and/or other research and/or educational institutions. 
  • Ensures research regulations are adhered to, ACUC approvals in place, material transfer agreements properly executed, and that radiation and lab safety requirements are up to date and implemented.
  • Point of contact for starting new studies, scheduling scanning time, establishing scanning protocols, and resolving facility issues and safety issues
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair and facility cleaning
  • Compile information for CTI leadership

Supervision

  • Trains, directs, assigns duties to & supervises other staff and students
  • Provides instruction to lab users on technically complex procedures, equipment & instruments.  Train and certify users for independent human and phantom MR scanning.  Train users on facility policies and MRI safety.

Miscellaneous

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in MRI scanning.

  • IDNS certified
