Job Summary:
Coordinates & completes the day to day administrative & technical activities involved in a single complex, large, nationwide or multiple moderately complex concurrent biomedical &/or social-behavioral research study(ies) involving multiple sites& /or longitudinal assessments/ interventions. Ensures that all activities are completed by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & all relevant current local, state, & federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy & procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), & the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH).
Specific Responsibilities:
Technical
- Participates in the planning & conduct of research studies.
- Reviews project & protocol & recommends strategies to expedite study.
- Recruits & retains participants.
- Obtains informed consent.
- Administers tests &/or questionnaires following protocols.
- Collects, compiles, tabulates &/or process responses.
- Gathers information.
- Extracts & analyzes data from medical charts.

Administration

Finance

- Creates lab financial plan & budget/audit expenses.
- Obtains sales quotes for lab equipment & supplies.
- Reviews & adjusts expenses to decrease costs.
- Oversees repair & maintenance of all lab equipment & ensures that lab supplies are ready & available when necessary.
- Administers budget including negotiating with grant sponsors.
- Maintains & reconciles expenditures & balances in regard to research accounts & budgets.
Supervision
- Trains, directs, assigns duties to & may supervise research staff, students, residents &/or fellows.
- Acts as a mentor in regard to education of junior coordinators.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 4 years' research study or other relevant experience required; OR
- Successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a master's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 2 years' research study or other relevant experience.
- Must complete NU's IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants & must re-certify every 3 years.

Radiology Faculty Physician (Breast Imaging Division, Instructor or Assistant Professor)
The Department of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator to join the Division of Breast Imaging, academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include attending on the Breast Imaging service at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH), as well as teaching and mentoring medical graduate trainees and students. The Breast Imaging Section is part of the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center (LSCBC), where state-of-the art care is provided to patients with breast diseases. The LSCBC is one of the largest, most advanced breast centers in the country. Housed in the highly regarded Prentice Women’s Hospital on the downtown Northwestern University Chicago campus, the women’s imaging section provides breast cancer screening and multidisciplinary care to patients with breast disease. Over 90,000 breast imaging studies and interventional procedures are performed each year in one facility including MRI-guided biopsies. Mammography is fully tomosynthesis capable with 14 machines onsite, 10 state-of-the-art ultrasound units, two prone tomosynthesis/stereotactic biopsy tables, and 3 T MRI machines. The section participates in multicenter clinical trials and research and development of new breast imaging technologies. A fellowship program in breast imaging is supported which includes 7 fellows each year.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Imaging Research Faculty Position (Job ID: 43338)
The Department of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago is seeking a full-time, continuing appointment, faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position will be in an active AI and imaging research environment blending clinical studies with developments of advanced imaging and image analysis research with a focus on novel AI/ Deep Learning research, as applied to computational modeling and application of innovative data analysis concepts should broadly integrate with clinical research and imaging applications in neuroradiology, oncology, body imaging, MSK, thoracic and cardiovascular imaging, breast imaging, etc. Specific research areas include (1) fairness and bias-mitigation in clinical AI applications (2) trustworthy and explainable AI for high-risk medical applications, (3) human-centered AI, (4) application of AI and deep learning to large and multi-modal (e.g., PET-MRI, PET-CT, and imaging with EHR data) in-vivo patient and/or preclinical data sets, and (5) other topics that require developing new deep learning algorithms for the image-based analysis of tissue structure and function, and potentially clinical trials.
Qualifications: Candidates should hold a PhD in computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, biomedical engineering, medical imaging, or a related field. Experience in radiology imaging modalities MRI, CT, PET, and other biomedical imaging techniques, algorithm development for deep learning architectures, clinical translational imaging, advanced mathematics and statistical concepts, biomedical modeling & post-processing, and successful demonstration of extramural funding are essential. Also required is an exemplary record of peer-reviewed publications.
Facilities: The Radiology Department includes over 100 clinical faculty and a large research group with 18 faculty and 50+ students and postdoctoral fellows who conduct research across a broad spectrum of imaging with MRI, CT, and other modalities. The Department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) operates a large PACS system to provide a filmless environment. Over 300,000 imaging studies are performed annually, of which 95% are stored at a centralized vendor neutral archive, transmitted, displayed, and interpreted on the PACS. There are 68 diagnostic imaging workstations in the department and another 74 throughout the rest of the facility. There are currently 12 clinical CT scanners, 15 clinical MRI scanners, and 5 MRI systems fully dedicated to imaging research. The department has an active imaging research group with a track-record of development of advanced imaging and analysis techniques and well-established research collaborations between the departments of radiology, cardiology, neurology, the Northwestern Cancer Center, as well as other departments including biomedical engineering and computer science. There are several core lab facilities and I.AIM (institute of augmented intelligence) fostering collaborations and development of innovative solutions for important healthcare challenges.
This position is a continuing appointment, academic rank determined on qualifications, at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Patient Care Technician - Hematology Oncology Part-time Nights

Every other weekend required.

The Patient Care Technician's primary function is to assist and support the Professional Registered Nurse in all aspects of direct and indirect patient care activities. The Patient Care Technician functions as a member of the unit staff under the direction and supervision of the professional Registered Nurse.
Direct Patient Care Activities:
- Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge process
- Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight for adults and/or neonates, height, and blood pressure
- Measures and records intake and output including output from drains
- Applies cardiac monitor/oximetry
- Obtains EKG
- Adheres to the infant security protocol (accurate assessment of band placement)
- Performs normal newborn hearing screening
- Obtains capillary blood glucose for adults and/or neonates
- Performs phlebotomy
- Applies Fetal Monitor equipment on pregnant patients
- Discontinues heplocks and foley catheters
- Administers enemas
- Collects specimens (urine, stool, blood and sputum) on adults and/or neonates

- Transports patients, equipment and/or supplies during urgent and emergent situations and to front door on discharge
- Responds to emergency situations, secures assistance and initiates basic life support

- Promptly notifies RN of any change in patient condition
- Performs post-mortem care and transports bodies to the morgue when necessary
- Assumes responsibility for the care of patient's prosthetic devices, hearing aides, dentures, eye glasses, etc.
- Follows established policies, procedures and standards of care in all areas of practice.
Indirect Patient Care:
- Maintains a safe and clean environment. Duties may include: maintaining temperature logs on, defrosting, and cleaning refrigerator, straightening linen, cleaning utility rooms, cleaning IV poles, cleaning scale, cleaning and returning equipment to SPD, replacing and disposing of soiled linen bags.
- Performs duties delegated by the RN to facilitate patient care and the efficient operations of the assigned patient care unit.

Job Summary:
This MRI Technician oversees day-to-day operations of the Small Animal MR and PET systems at the Center for Translational Imaging (CTI) and acts as the interface to all researchers on both the Chicago and Evanston campuses of Northwestern University.
The responsibilities of the position include CTI management, interaction with users at CTI, education and training, technical responsibilities such as safety monitoring, data processing, and interfacing hardware and software for experiments.
Specific Responsibilities:
- MRI technologist manages daily operations of MRI and PET scanners. MRI technologist is responsible for all aspects related to MRI scanning including scheduling studies, performing scans, archiving studies, post-processing of images, archiving and maintaining imaging data, and billing of scanner usage. MRI technologist optimizes research protocols for intramural and multicenter research studies
Administration
- Oversees and manages collection, maintenance, analysis and evaluation of data used in grant submissions, presentations and publications.

- Provides instruction to lab users on technically complex procedures, equipment & instruments. Trains and certifies users for independent human and phantom MR scanning. Trains users on facility policies and MRI safety.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $30.64 -$43.09 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
