Northwestern Celebrates Match Day

This year's Match Day was celebrated on Friday, March 21, 2025. excitement and celebration, fourth-year medical students and other trainees discovered where they were matched through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), an independent, non-profit organization that matches students and trainees to residency programs across the country.   

Applications for residency programs are sent in September and interviews occur between October and January. This year was highly competitive and from the vast pool of applicants to the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, two candidates were matched to Integrated Interventional Radiology, and ten candidates were matched to Diagnostic Radiology.

The incoming cohort is expected to start their residency program in July 2026 and will be under the supervision of Program Directors Dr. Ankur Garg, Diagnostic Radiology, and Dr. Kent Sato, Integrated Interventional Radiology.
