Imaging Informatics

The Imaging Informatics Section is the computing arm of the Department of Radiology.

1. We support the computing needs of the faculty radiologists, their staff and the residents. We provide desktop computer and network triage, FTP, and internal and external Web services.
2. We operate the Imaging Informatics research laboratory. Fully equipped for imaging informatics research,we operate several server systems including a research PACS. We provide DICOM de-identification services for the campus and a searchable repository of over 3 million radiology reports.

   There are many opportunities to participate in lab activities:

• We collaborate with the DePaul Univeristy NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates Medix (Medical Informatics) Program. A 10 week paid summer research experience for undergraduates.
• We accept medical students for research rotations in imaging informatics
• We accept radiology residents for research rotations in imaging informatics
• We have an Imaging Informatics fellowship for newly minted radiologists to expand their academic interests in Imaging Informatics.
