Imaging Informatics
The Imaging Informatics Section is the computing arm of the Department of Radiology.
- We support the computing needs of the faculty radiologists, their staff and the residents. We provide desktop computer and network triage, FTP, and internal and external Web services.
- We operate the Imaging Informatics research laboratory. Fully equipped for imaging informatics research,we operate several server systems including a research PACS. We provide DICOM de-identification services for the campus and a searchable repository of over 3 million radiology reports.
There are many opportunities to participate in lab activities:
- We collaborate with the DePaul Univeristy NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates Medix (Medical Informatics) Program. A 10 week paid summer research experience for undergraduates.
- We accept medical students for research rotations in imaging informatics
- We accept radiology residents for research rotations in imaging informatics
- We have an Imaging Informatics fellowship for newly minted radiologists to expand their academic interests in Imaging Informatics.
