CAMRI

The Center for Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CAMRI) is a Northwestern Radiology research facility focused on cardiovascular and neuroimaging. CAMRI is equipped with 1.5T and 3T MR scanners, C-ARM angiographic system, and an MR simulator. For more information, visit the CAMRI website.

Cardiovascular imaging

The cardiovascular imaging program at Northwestern University has a well-established research operation, which is composed of physicians and scientists from the departments of Radiology, Biomedical Engineering, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery. Our focus is the development and clinical implementation of new techniques for cardiovascular MRI, resulting in the publication of numerous seminal papers over the last six years. The program is supported by Siemens Medical Systems, which has five dedicated scientists based on-site at Northwestern. For more information, visit the Cardiovascular Imaging website.

Carroll MRI Research Group

Led by Tim Carroll, PhD, MRI research group has been focusing on a valuable tools in assessing the severity of vascular disease, real-time assessment of cerebral blood flow for the triage of patients suffering from acute stroke and imaging techniques which have the potential potential for the staging, and tracking the response to therapy of certain types of cancer. Neuroimaging

The primary focus of the laboratory is the improvement and application of neuroimaging methods to better understand human brain function. Work in the lab draws from many disciplines such as biomedical engineering, physics, biophysics, statistics, electrical engineering, computer science, neuroscience, physiology, biology, and anatomy. Research thesis program

The Feinberg School of Medicine is committed to fostering and sustaining an environment that facilitates the highest quality scholarly work. Throughout its history, the medical school has focused on the importance of discovery in both biomedical and clinical research and has stressed the need for continued exploration. We believe that an essential component of any students’ educational experience in Medicine should include research. To that end, the medical school offers the Research Thesis Program (RTP). Summer research program

Feinberg offers its students the opportunity to conduct research during the summer in areas of their interest. The Medical Student Summer Research Program (MSSRP) helps educate students in the basics of biomedical and clinical research. TRIOG

The TRanslational Interventional and Oncologic Imaging Group (TRIOG) focuses on the development and validation of magnetic resonance imaging techniques for optimal delivery and functional guidance of minimally invasive therapies, early prediction of therapy response, and non-invasive staging of carcinogenesis.
