Two Interventional Oncology Fellows Receive SIR Foundation Awards
Interventional Oncology research fellows Ahsun Riaz, MD and Saad M. Ibrahim were awarded SIR Foundation Awards at the March 2009 Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) Conference in San Diego, CA.
Dr. Riaz was recognized for his research: “Chemoembolization vs. Radioembolization: Comparison of Toxicity, Imaging Response and Long-term Outcomes in 100 TACE vs. 104 Y90 Patients” comparing two embolization methods among patients at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Ibrahim awarded research: “Treatment of Metastatic Colorectal Cancer to the Liver With Y90 Microspheres” focused on the use of a single technique, radioembolization, for metastatic disease.
