Details

The Department of Radiology at Northwestern University offers two one-year research fellowships in CT. Ideal candidates have completed medical school and have research experience in radiology. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is located in the heart of Chicago, one block off Michigan Avenue. It is the main teaching hospital for Northwestern University-Feinberg School of Medicine. There are currently ten CT scanners in the department (including single and dual source 64-slice scanners, 40-slice PET/CT, multislice portable CT). Additional 128-slice adaptive scanner will be installed in Fall 2008. Areas of active research include cutting-edge acquisition and processing techniques in cardiac and oncologic imaging, including dual energy. The Radiology Department is filmless with comprehensive Picture Archiving and communication System (PACS). The fellow is expected to write a quarterly progress report, publish papers and present abstracts in national meetings. The goal is to encourage the fellows to pursue a career in academic radiology and to continue with CT research after this fellowship. Start date is July 1.
