Northwestern Radiology’s Imaging Informatics Section is now accepting applications for its Imaging Informatics Fellowship. This is a one-year, PGY-6, program. The program will consist of 60 percent informatics training and 40 percent participation in our existing Body Imaging Fellowship. The Informatics training will includes laboratory project participation, industry collaboration, and undergraduate and graduate teaching opportunities.
The department provides radiology services at Northwestern Memorial Hospital – a two-million square foot state-of-the-art facility in Chicago, Illinois. The department performs approximately 400,000 procedures per year and 95 percent of those are acquired, stored, transmitted, displayed and interpreted in a large General Electric (GE) Medical Systems Centricity PACS. There more than 70 state-of-the-art modality devices.
The Imaging Informatics Section operates a research laboratory, which is fully equipped with numerous servers, a laboratory PACS environment and access to a searchable mirror of the clinical PACS that contains over 3 million studies. There is a searchable repository of 3 million radiology reports. Research activities in the laboratory span a broad variety of imaging informatics activities including image display and visualization, annotation and markup, and workflow engineering. Any specific related research interest can usually be accommodated.

Candidates will have successfully completed an accredited diagnostic radiology residency, be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible, and must be able to obtain a license to practice in Illinois.
