The Department of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, in conjunction with Northwestern Memorial Hospital, offers five one-year fellowship positions in breast imaging at the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center (LSCBC). Fellows will receive training in mammography, breast ultrasound (US), breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and all image-guided interventional techniques. Attendance at weekly multidisciplinary breast conferences and radiology pathology concordance conferences provide a comprehensive clinical perspective on breast cancer care. Fellow education is also enriched by a formal didactic lecture series, weekly breast MRI conference, and Journal Club. Rotations in breast pathology, breast surgery, radiation oncology, and medical oncology will be provided to ensure that the fellows gain experience in these closely related specialties, with fellowship rotations tailored to the individual’s interests.
The Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center (LSCBC) is one of the largest, most advanced breast centers in the country, with cutting edge equipment and an examination volume exceeding 80,000 per year. The fellow is actively involved in the interpretation of examinations, performance of procedures, and consultation with referring physicians. Fellows are also required to participate in ongoing research projects with clinical faculty. Graduates of our fellowship program have been successful in both academic and private practice.
Our fellowship positions for 2016-17 and 2017-18 are filled. We are transitioning to the Society of Breast Imaging Fellowship Match Program.
