The Department of Radiology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, in conjunction with Northwestern Memorial Hospital, offers five one-year fellowship positions in breast and women’s imaging at the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center (LSCBC). Fellows will receive training in mammography, breast ultrasound (US), breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and all image-guided interventional techniques. Ongoing research projects, with opportunities for participation, include full-field digital mammography, breast US screening, and MRI. Rotations in breast pathology, breast surgery, and radiation oncology will be provided to ensure that the follows gain experience in these two closely related specialties. Attendance at weekly multidisciplinary concordance breast conferences and tumor board will provide a comprehensive clinical perspective on breast cancer care. The fellowship rotations are tailored to the individual’s interests.
The Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center (LSCBC) is one of the largest, most advanced breast centers in the country. With superb equipment at the cutting edge in digital mammography, breast US, MRI, investigational techniques, and tumor board, as well as an examination volume exceeding 65,000 per year, the fellows gain unique experience.
Application Requirements
Applications for the fellowship beginning July 1, 2009, are no longer being accepted. Applications for the fellowship beginning July 1, 2010, will be accepted starting August 1, 2008. Applicants must complete an accredited four-year radiology residency program and be board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology.
Offers for personal interviews will be made upon completion of the application, including three letters of recommendation, so we encourage prompt submission.
